Collection Management
The handling and presentation of the typically small and delicate paintings requires some specific precautions to prevent the works from sustaining damage. In this context, the ambient climate in the exhibition room and its lighting are of particular importance, as are the materials used for cabinets and display cases, and anti-theft measures.
During your consultation, you will have the opportunity to outline your wishes and requirements regarding storing and exhibiting your paintings so that Bernd can identify solutions that meet your needs.

Miniaturists specialised in miniature paintings and did not usually engage in panel painting or other, more ‘traditional’ forms of painting. For this reason, connoisseurs of occidental panel paintings are often not familiar with the names and painting styles of miniaturists. The cataloguing of collections or bequests requires expert knowledge.
A catalogue lists information regarding the painters and their sitters as well as the date of the paintings and the materials used in their creation. Further, signatures will be deciphered, inscriptions will be interpreted, and the condition of the paintings will be assessed and stated. If desired, the approximate commercial value of the pieces can be determined.
